Krupówki is the most famous promenade in Poland and a representative street in Zakopane, located in the city center. They start at the intersection with Nowotarska Street and extend over a kilometer-long promenade to the south.

Description

The street's name comes from the surname "Krupa" and the clearing called "Krupówki" located at its upper part. Krupówki used to connect the old center of the village of Zakopane with the blacksmith's manor. Nowadays, after losing its transportation function, Krupówki has become an important commercial, service, and administrative center. The unattractive and styleless architecture has recently been enriched with pseudo-art nouveau curved lanterns, and the post-communist asphalt has been replaced with variously laid cobblestones. Krupówki is currently just over a kilometer long.

Along the street, there are many shops, restaurants, a post office, and more recognizable landmarks:

  • Tatra Museum named after Dr. Tytus Chałubiński in Zakopane.
  • Tatra Railway Station.
  • Neo-Romanesque parish church of the Holy Family on Krupówki Street.
  • You can enjoy attractions such as a horse-drawn carriage ride and taking a photo with a bear. In the middle of Krupówki, there is a view of the Giewont mountain. Krupówki also houses numerous gastronomic establishments and commercial points - souvenir shops, as well as stores with branded clothing and equipment for mountain tourism.

This representative street, a promenade located in the center of Zakopane, is always bustling with life, full of tourists and various attractions. This is where elegant restaurants serving regional cuisine, as well as exquisite dishes, can be found. There are also cozy pubs, shops, and institutions. It's always possible to come across stalls with oscypek (traditional smoked cheese) and Zakopane souvenirs in this area.
